“Should I Fix It or Just Replace It?”

Let’s be real—some things in your house just need to be replaced. Others just need a quick fix and they’ll last another 5 years. So how do you know which is which?

Here’s how we break it down:

🚪

DOORS

Fix it if: It’s dragging on the floor, misaligned, or the latch isn’t catching.

Replace it if: It’s warped, cracked, or has water damage. Hollow-core doors especially don’t age well.

🧱

DRYWALL

Fix it if: You’ve got nail holes, dents, or a small crack from settling.

Replace it if: You’re seeing bubbling, mold, or a big chunk of damage—especially near plumbing.

💡

ELECTRICAL

Fix it if: It’s a single dead outlet or a loose switch.

Replace or upgrade if: You’ve got flickering lights, overloaded circuits, or you’re using extension cords as permanent wiring. (We see that way too often.)

🧰

OUR RULE OF THUMB:

If the cost of fixing it is more than half the cost of replacing it—and it’s not something you love or use every day—replace it. If it’s cosmetic or small? We’ll fix it and make it look brand new.
